Paul McCartney adds second and final Melbourne and Sydney shows

Due to overwhelming demand in the pre-sale, second and final Paul McCartney shows have been added in Melbourne and Sydney to the One On One tour with tickets going on sale today.

Returning to Australia for the first time since 1993, enormous demand saw tens of thousands of tickets snapped up during pre-sale.

The second concerts at Melbourne’s AAMI Park on Wednesday 6 December and Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena on Tuesday 12 December will be the last chance for fans to secure tickets and will be available in the general on-sale on Tuesday 4 July noon AEST and 5pm AEST respectively.

Two-time Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, 21-time Grammy Award winner and recipient of The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire Sir Paul McCartney is bringing his acclaimed long-running One On One Tour to Australia and New Zealand this December.

Since launching last year the One on One Tour has played 45 shows in 13 countries to just under 1.5 million people, winning rave reviews from concertgoers and critics alike:

‘In spite of the size of the venues, McCartney and his music forge a personal connection with each and every one in the audience.’ – PopMatters

‘McCartney creates a joy that is boundless both onstage and off.’ – The Washington Times

‘He’s an artist who defined the past, but he’s also an artist unwilling to let go of the future. Rest assured, we’re all the better for it.’ – Consequence of Sound

Irrefutably one of the most successful singer-songwriters and performers of all time, McCartney has soundtracked the lives of generations of fans with the most beloved catalogue in popular music.

The One On One Tour celebrates McCartney’s entire career - from his earliest work with The Quarrymen through to his most recent collaboration with Kanye West and Rihanna – as well as global treasures from The Beatles, Wings and his solo catalogue – there is no shortage of surprises.

The Paul McCartney live experience is everything any music lover could ever want from a rock show — and so much more: Nearly three hours’ worth of the greatest moments from the last 50 years of music, dozens of songs that have formed the soundtracks of our lives.

McCartney and his band have played an unparalleled range of venues and locations: outside the Colosseum in Rome, Moscow's Red Square, Buckingham Palace, The White House, a free show in Mexico for over 400,000 people, the last ever show at San Francisco’s Candlestick Park where The Beatles played their final concert in 1966, and even one performance broadcast live into Space!

Featuring McCartney’s band of the last 10+ years – Paul "Wix" Wickens (keyboards), Brian Ray (bass/guitar), Rusty Anderson (guitar) and Abe Laboriel Jr (drums) – the show is never anything short of life-changing.

The One On One Tour features a brand new production, as always, utilising state of the art audio and video technology and to ensure an unforgettable experience from every seat in the house. Employing massive screens, lasers, fireworks and, of course, a staggering selection of the best songs ever written or performed, every Paul McCartney show promises a once in a lifetime evening that transcends and elevates the potential of live music.

Make no mistake – McCartney’s One On One Tour will be a once-in-a-lifetime event. Tickets to both Melbourne and Sydney concerts will be available in the general on-sale on Tuesday 4 July noon AEST and 5pm AEST respectively.

Speaking about his forthcoming visit Paul said: “Mexico holds so many special memories for me.  We’ve had some brilliant nights there and I’m looking forward to making more great memories on this tour.  We are going to have a huge party together.  Getting ready to rock Mexico!”

Paul’s new One On One Tour launched in the US in 2016 and saw him play 41 shows across 12 different countries to over 1.2 million people, winning rave reviews from both concert-goers and the media. The final run of shows in 2016 concluded with Paul’s headlining performance at the now legendary Desert Trip festival in the US. Last week saw Paul play his first shows of 2017 in Japan as well as announcing new North American dates for this summer.  Paul played four huge sell out shows in Tokyo winning rave reviews.

This show marks Paul’s first visit to Mexico in five years.  His last trip saw him play a historic massive outdoor show in Zocalo Square as part of his record breaking On The Run world tour, pulling in more than 250,000 attendees!  Since his first visit in 1993 Paul has played ten concerts in Mexico.

The new One On One show includes a dazzling re-designed production as well as previously never performed classics from the most beloved catalogue in popular music.  The One On One Tour spans Paul’s entire career – from his earliest work with The Quarrymen through to his most recent collaboration with Kanye West and Rihanna – as well as global treasures from The Beatles, Wings and his solo catalogue – there is no shortage of surprises.

Moulettes announce four UK shows to conclude the Preternatural Tour

The Moulettes, one of the UK’s most unique touring bands have announced four UK headline this December. Kicking off in Glasgow on 4 December and followed by shows in Manchester and Bristol before finishing up in London on 8 December where they will be joined by 9Bach at Cadogan Hall for what is set to be an incredibly memorable show.

Tickets go on sale Friday 30 June

Having formed in early 2000’s out of Glastonbury and Winchester, The Moulettes have fast become renowned for their breathtaking live shows. It is clear that few bands have the creative range and work ethic of Moulettes, with a brave approach to production and arrangement Moulettes look for peculiar ways of blending acoustic and electric instruments. Lead singer and songwriter Hannah Miller creates an otherworldly framework in which fantastical characters move between the realms of nature, magic and science and out of that Preternatural was born - an eclectic 11-track opus for the Natural World, and the strange and beautiful creatures in it.

The Moulettes have always been an evolving phenomenon and each album has seen a significant leap into new unchartered territory, prompting comparisons as disparate as Roxy Music, Frank Zappa, Kate Bush, Bowie and Radiohead plus more.

“We identify with bands who present their own kind of eclecticism,” says Oliver Austin. “From Zappa, and Gentle Giant to current bands like Field Music, John Grant, Snarky Puppy, Laura Mvula, My Brightest Diamond, tUnE-yArDs and Tortoise; these were all references for the record.”

Incurably ambitious, this is a band that has always put an adventurous approach to Art at the heart of their craft and have constantly been on the road with varying sized ensembles from a three-piece to a full chamber orchestra.

December 2017 is the concluding chapter of the two-year ‘Preternatural’ tour, and the last chance to see the astounding live show that has taken the band across Europe from Poland to Malta, and across Canada from Nova Scotia to Victoria Island.

Tour dates
Monday 4 December - Oran Mor, Glasgow
Tuesday 5 December - Band on the Wall, Manchester
Thursday 7 December - Trinity, Bristol
Friday 8 December - Cadogan Hall, London

Tickets available from venue box office and online at ticketweb.co.uk, songkick.com, AXS.com, gigantic.com, alttickets.com
